“From Kate Hudson’s California girl glow to Kate Moss’ beachy bronze, we think these A-listers have the sun-kissed look down to a fine art.

Jessica Alba
Despite looking like she’s got naturally quite dewy, radiant, mediterranean skin, Jessica Alba has admitted to regular spray tans. She reportedly favors Infinity Sun, as her fake tan brand of preference.

Margot Robbie is one of those girls who makes natural beauty look completely effortless. On the odd occasion though, like for big awards ceremonies, she has been known to partake in a bit of skin bronzing. Margot Robbie’s make-up artist Jennifer Streicher has spoken of getting the perfect Golden Globes tan with a little bit of help from St Tropez bronzing mousse.

Kate Moss used to be the St Tropez brand ambassador, in case you didn’t know that already. She once told The Telegraph: ‘I have used St.Tropez since it started. Around 15 years ago, the first time I went to Ibiza, I didn’t want to be the only white person on the beach so I had a St.Tropez.’

Megan once told Allure that her biggest teenage beauty regret was sunbathing, saying: ‘It was not a spray tan. When I was tan, it was a real tan, which is scary because I’m so fair skinned naturally.’ These days she prefers something a little less dangerous.

Isn’t Blake Lively just the archetypal Californian surfer girl? For her role in The Shallows – which she spent much of in a bikini – she claimed to have worked out 13 hours a day to get in shape. She clearly also put a lot of effort into getting that perfect skin colour too.

Jennifer Aniston once issued herself with a ‘sun-tanning intervention.’ By which, we mean she decided that to keep her skin looking as age-defying as it does, she decided to protect it from the UVAs and opt instead for a tan of the artificial kind. She’s now brand ambassador for Aveeno and uses their Positively Radiant moisturizer.

Elle Macpherson once told Into The Gloss that her biggest regret from her modeling youth was not protecting her skin from the sun a little more comprehensively. She has lots of freckles that she didn’t take great care of, but now is assiduous about applying sunblock. She is super careful to moisturize her skin and opts for bottle tan instead of sunbathing.”
